United Students for Fair Trade Convergence & Research
Posted by on November 21, 2003
United Students for Fair Trade is seeking people interested in researching student involvement in the Global Justice movement, particularly the demographic of students and campuses involved in Fair Trade coffee campaigns. USFT is hosting a National Convergence in Santa Cruz, CA the weekend of February 13-16, 2004. We need volunteers to join our research team, which is working to identify trends and gaps in student activism across the country and world. Having a clear picture of where the student Fair Trade movement stands is crucial to identify where the national organization should focus its outreach and support.
This is a great opportunity to do research that is practical and very important. Consider teaming up with a professor or other students and pursuing some independent study credit. If you like to research but don’t fancy yourself a leader or activist, this is a great way to get involved in the movement to make trade fair. Research experience would be awesome, but only free time and enthusiasm are required.
For questions or more information, please contact me. Also check out the Convergence information on our blooming website (which will soon have registration information and our FT student organization database): http://www.usft.org/convergence/
