DESCRIPTION: This dynamic and exciting event is to be held September 22-24, 2003, in Albany, NY. This national symposium–the first of its kind–will bring together families, community leaders, decision makers and practitioners from agencies traditionally entrusted with securing safe and nurturing environments for children, youth, and their families.

During the symposium, participants will have a unique opportunity to gather and exchange information on successful community and neighborhood collaborations from across the country and internationally. Experts from a range of disciplines and systems (both formal and nontraditional) will be on-hand to network with participants and present information on current policy trends and contemporary research.

Participants will hear findings from a pre-symposium “think tank” and participate in networking sessions and evening poster session receptions.
