New Publication: Quality Counts (youth development)

The Forum for Youth Investment Releases ‘Quality Counts’ the Inaugural Issue of Forum Focus
At a time when increased budget cuts overshadow increased need, there are strong incentives to reduce per youth program costs to keep numbers up. Quality can become the enemy of quantity when a “something is better than nothing” mentality creeps in. Balancing the demand to act with the need to act responsibly, Forum Focus: Quality Counts is the first issue of a publication made available by the Forum for Youth Investment that examines what is known about quality, summarizing existing research and practical evidence that quality matters. It also pushes forward to ask: Is quality measurable? Malleable? Does quality pay? Forum Focus cuts through amassing research and commentary to synthesize the most relevant information and policies related to youth people and will be circulated five times a year as a four-page newsletter insert in Youth Today.
