ECA seeks community locations for rain barrel campaign
The Energy Coordinating Agency has received funds from the Philadelphia Water Department to install rain barrels at Philadelphia homes and seeks locations to host public workshops.
Rain barrels are used to collect rain from downspouts, which helps the environment by decreasing storm water runoff into streams and minimizes sewer backups. The collected water can be used by the homeowner for watering plants and cleaning.
The workshops will be free and open to the public. ECA will supply and install rain barrels at homes at no cost. Community agencies or groups with access to a public space, such as a library, school, church or center, are encouraged to select a date and time for an upcoming workshop. Site hosts will outreach to neighbors and constituents to obtain a minimum of 15 participants per workshop.
