Gender-Responsive Human Service Delivery

Workshop series focuses on girls service delivery

State and local jurisdictions throughout the country have begun to recognize that gender-specific programming may not equate to gender responsiveness for girls who are engaged in the juvenile justice and child welfare systems.

Recognizing that girls in these systems are in need of relevant and gender-appropriate approaches, the PCCYFS Education and Professional Development Institute, in collaboration with the Girls Justice League, is offering a five-workshop series entitled Gender-Responsive Human Service Delivery: Achieving Better Outcomes for Girls and Organizations.

The series includes two tracks:  Track A is for those individuals interested in professional development to better understand the context of serving girls in the juvenile justice and child welfare systems. Track B is designed for individuals who want to assess and increase their organization’s capacity to integrate gender-responsive policies and programming.

Both tracks are trauma informed and include voices of girls who have experience with the juvenile justice and child welfare delivery systems
