Toolkit aids in using funds for integrated service delivery
Due to low wages, lack of benefits, and inconsistent employment, many low-income workers are unable to meet their own and their families’ basic needs through employment alone.
To help low-wage workers who must often navigate a fragmented system to obtain critically needed work-supporting services and benefits, CLASP, which works on policy solutions that work for low-income people, has just released a new toolkit designed to aid state and local policymakers, program operators and advocates identify federal funding streams that can be used to support integrated service delivery.
Integrated service delivery means organizations provide multiple services and make it easy for clients to address both immediate and longer-term needs.
The toolkit focuses on the elements of the Center for Working Families model developed by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, which combines employment and career advancement, income enhancements and work supports, and financial and asset building services.
