Journal of Hispanic Higher Education

January 2008 Special Issue

Submissions are being accepted for a special issue focused on matters related to the Hispanic student and second language acquisition. This issue is tentatively titled, “Hispanic Students and Second Language Acquisition: Closing the Language Gap.”

It is expected that the articles will deepen readers’ understanding of programs of instruction, assessment, and policies that relate to or directly impact the education of Hispanic English language learners, as well as inform reflective and transformational practitioners in how to best address their needs. Submissions should focus on Hispanic learners who are educated and supported through ESL, ESOL, or bilingual education programs. Members of the Journal’s editorial board will peer review all submissions through a blind reviewing system, and Professor Maria V. Balderrama of California State University – San Bernardino will author the issue’s afterthought.
