Posted by PennTESOL East on February 4, 2025
Join PennTESOL East on Saturday, February 8th 10:00-11:00 AM on Zoom for the next installment in our Second Saturday Seminar series! Associate Professor Eleisha Moreno will discuss key strategies for supporting multilingual students in their transition to higher education.
Abstract: Multilingual learners of English (MLEs) are an underserved population in the U.S. higher education system, and recent research indicates that nearly half of MLEs do not attend college within two years of graduating from high school. In this session, Associate Professor Eleisha Moreno will share how the English for Academic Purposes program at Reading Area Community College facilitates MLEs’ transition from high school into college and sets them up for success in higher education.
These seminars are free and open to the public. All are welcome! No registration is required; simply click this link to join.
