As a new school year begins, Black August calls us to honor our history, prioritize wellness, and consider our roles in advancing educational freedom.

Join the Center for Black Educator Development and the National Black Teacher Pipeline Coalition for the first session of Black August: Educate. Heal. Organize. During this interactive session, participants will:

  • Explore the history and significance of Black August.
  • Understand the connection between Black educational resistance and contemporary education.
  • Reflect on the educators, mentors, and community members who have shaped their journeys.
  • Participate in healing-centered wellness practices.
  • Begin identifying their role in advancing educational freedom.
