In 1876, the Centennial Grounds, located in West Fairmount Park, celebrated Philadelphia as the birthplace of our country and as the world’s leading industrial power. Today, the area is anchored by the Philadelphia Zoo, Memorial Hall, and some of the City’s finest historic residential architecture, as well as the Mann Center for the Performing Arts, the Japanese House and Garden, and the Horticulture Center. With the goal of establishing a family destination, the area will soon welcome the Please Touch Museum and new transportation links.
Please join us as the President and CEO of the Philadelphia Zoo, Alexander L. Hoskins, discusses the plans and outlook for the Centennial District.
