POSITION: Youth Workforce Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Program Manager
Job Summary:
Dual role position that involves working directly with disadvantaged youth ages 14-21 in workforce development programs including running certification workshops, case management, and administration of summer employment programs. Position also includes administrative component including reporting into state database, maintaining youth files, and determining eligibility for programs. Work in a team environment with the Montgomery County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) Youth Administrator. Recent college graduates encouraged to apply.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Outreach to county youth (both in school and out of school) to provide a variety of services including skills training, leadership development, case management, mentoring, and follow-up.
– Administer workshops to youth for the achievement of a credential that will assist them in graduation and the transition to employment or post-secondary education.
– Assist in the maintenance of paper case files and an electronic database (CWDS) that tracks progress of youth through the system.
– Serve as liaison to special projects, assisting in recruitment of youth, tracking youth progress, and following up on outcomes and evaluation.
– Work collaboratively with employers in the summer youth program to ensure student success.
– Works with Community Liaison to recruit youth into programs, connect youth to community resources, and develop relationships with businesses and community organizations.
– Works with Quality Analyst on implementation of Provider Academy, file review, and assisting contracted agencies to meet all compliance requirements.
– Other duties as assigned.
RELATED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
– Required proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel. Interview may include short test of Excel proficiency, including understanding of basic formulas.
– Knowledge of resources in Montgomery County a plus.
– Ability to relate well with individuals 14 to 21.
– Demonstrated ability to “pitch” and “sell a program to possible worksites
– Applicant should have the ability to work in dynamic environment and adjust priorities and responsibilities on a regular basis along while maintaining strong follow-through.
QUALIFICATIONS:
B.A. /B.S. in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or related field. Prior experience working with at-risk youth preferred. Must have valid PA drivers license and ability to travel throughout county with personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement is provided). Must be able to pass criminal background check and initial drug test.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
The salary range for this position is $30,000 – $34,000. Benefits include health care and dental coverage.
