Youth Voices and Recommendations for Reforming Education in the Juvenile Justice System
Youth Advocates from Juveniles for Justice, a project of Juvenile Law Center, are youth who have experience in the juvenile justice system and use their experience to push for reform.
This year, Juveniles for Justice has focused on barriers to educational opportunities for youth in the juvenile justice system. The youth have identified problems with the education youth often receive in juvenile justice facilities, as well problems youth face transitioning from juvenile facilities into their community schools.
In this webinar, the Youth Advocates will share their experiences as well as their recommendations for reform. Participants will also have an opportunity to ask the Youth Advocates questions about their experiences and how to make the system better for other youth.
