Youth Sports Coaches, Black Women in Sport Foundation

The Black Women in Sport Foundation (BWSF) is currently seeking part-time Sports Coaching for morning preschool programs, after school programs, and a school-wide Fun Fitness Friday program. BWSF is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to increase the involvement of black women and girls in all aspects of sport, including athletics, coaching and administration. BWSF’s work, however, is not limited to black women and girls. For over 20 years, BWSF has provided sports programming to youth throughout the greater Philadelphia area, partnering with other organizations to improve access to sports in underserved communities and increase opportunities for sports engagement. BWSF implements a competency-based sports program that introduces and sustains the ideals of competitive play, teamwork, and academic achievement. Responsibilities Include:
- Monitoring and evaluating program activities and program management
- Training and conducting fitness and sports activities for young athletes
- Lesson planning
- Submitting weekly reports for assigned program sites
- Attending required staff meetings and sport trainings
Requirements:
- Coaching Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent, college preferred
- FBI, Criminal Background, and Child Abuse Clearances
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Coaching Schedules: Vary by Program Location
Preschool Sports – Mondays & Wednesdays between the hours of 8:30am-12pm
Afterschool Sports – Weekdays between the hours of 3pm-6pm
Fun Fitness Fridays – Fridays 7am-9:30am
