Karma for Cara Foundation Invites Applications for Youth Service Project Grants
The Karma for Cara Foundation was established by 21-year-old Cara Becker and her family while Cara was being treated for leukemia. What began as a couple of blood drives grew quickly, and today the foundation supports young citizen-leaders nationwide.
To help advance this mission, the foundation welcomes applications for its micro-grant program. Through the program, micro-grants of up to $1,000 will be awarded to students 18 years of age and under in support of projects that benefit their communities. Micro-grants are intended to serve as a bridge between ideas and action, helping young citizen-leaders execute and magnify initiatives designed to help repair the world. Examples of eligible projects include transforming a vacant lot into a community garden, rebuilding a school playground, or helping senior citizens ready their home for winter.
To be eligible, students must be 18 years of age or younger.
(If applying on behalf of an entire class or student group, the foundation requests that applicants designate a maximum of three student leaders to be the main points of contact for the project.)
See the Karma for Cara website for compete program guidelines and application instructions.
Deadline: April 1, 2021
