Youth Service America and Disney Offer Grants to Continue Youth Service Day Work
Deadline: June 21, 2006
Youth Service America (<a href="http://www.ysa.org/">http://www.ysa.org/</a>) and the Walt Disney Company (<a href="http://www.DisneyHand.com/">http://www.DisneyHand.com/</a>) have announced the Disney Minnie Grant program for youth across the globe.
The program will provide grants of up to $500 for youth (ages 5-14), or the teachers and organizations that engage them, to implement service projects in their community or region.
Eligible applicants are youth (ages 5-14) or older youth (ages 15-25) who design a project that engages younger youth in service; or recognized groups/organizations who work with younger youth. Applicants must have participated in National and Global Youth Service Day 2006 (April 21-23) and completed an online N & GYSD evaluation.
Projects must be youth-led and take place between September 1 and September 30, 2006. Successful applicants will design a service project that addresses an important issue in their community. For the purposes of the grant, younger youth (ages 5-14) should have a significant part in planning, implementing, and evaluating the proposed service project.
Visit the YSA Web site for grant guidelines and application instructions.
