Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania seeks a Youth Program Coordinator to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to coordinate, implement, and develop the Youth First Program. In partnership with four Philadelphia elementary and middle schools, Youth First staff facilitate comprehensive sexuality education and leadership development groups; provide social services and information and support for parents and teachers; and insure access to youth-friendly reproductive health services. The Youth Program Coordinator is responsible for delivering educational programs, developing and facilitating leadership development groups, administering program evaluation surveys, and providing support and information to parents and school staff. The overall goal of this comprehensive, multi-year, multi-site program is to work with young people, their schools and families to enable youth to make positive, healthy decisions.

This position requires an applicant who has excellent group facilitation, organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Applicants must demonstrate a proven ability to work effectively with pre-adolescents, diverse ethnic groups and school personnel, work well independently and be a strong team player. Familiarity and comfort with sexual health-related issues and the youth development approach to working with young people and communities, and a Bachelor’s degree in related field are strongly preferred. Driver’s license and access to a car are helpful. Understanding of and strong personal commitment to reproductive rights and the goals and philosophies of Planned Parenthood are essential.
