The Forum for Youth Investment Releases Youth Policy Publication on Children’s Cabinets

As the country continues to “tighten the belt” on social and youth programs, advocates brace themselves for tough battles with policy makers over spending for children and youth. Forum Focus: A Portfolio Approach to Youth Policy, the third issue of the publication made available by the Forum for Youth Investment, challenges program and policy leaders to apply the rigor of financial planning to reduce fragmentation and increase the return on investments in children and youth. Forum Focus synthesizes cutting-edge efforts by cities and states to implement “results-based accountability” strategies that take stock of current investments through children’s cabinets, budgets, and report cards to improve both the efficiency and effectiveness of child and youth policies and programs. This publication is circulated five times a year as a four-page newsletter insert in Youth Today.
