The Work Group, a progressive, alternative education and training program, has an outstanding opportunity for a high energy professional with job counseling and coaching ability to guide our students through career planning and job search activities. In addition, marketing students to employers, placement of students in entry-level jobs, designing individual placement strategies, creating linkages with post-secondary education and training institutions, developing post-program training opportunities, career advisement, case management follow-up and providing data collection are required.
In this challenging role you will provide guidance, instruction, coaching to students ages 16-24 as they progress through the career planning and job search process. The selected candidate will help to match students to jobs, and assist in creating effective partnerships and alliances within the community, as well as, provide administrative support to the Career Services Department.
The selected candidate will possess the following: 3-5 years experience and have a successful record of assisting entry-level students transitioning to the workforce and demonstrated experience in group training. A BA/BS degree preferred; (but not required). The successful candidate will have working knowledge of proven job search techniques, excellent verbal and written communication skills a MUST, and possess a valid driver’s license and car. Candidate must be comfortable working with a diverse population, have a good sense of humor and a desire to have fun while working a real plus.
The Work Group offers an excellent compensation package including an outstanding benefits program. The salary range is in the mid to upper 30’s based on experience.
