YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING AVAILABLE FROM THE NATIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP COUNCIL
The National Youth Leadership Council (NYLC) will be conducting its annual youth leadership training July 11-18, 2004 at the Audubon Center of the North Woods in Sandstone, Minnesota. The training is geared towards high school students from across the country who then explore issues of community involvement, race relations and oppression, and morals and ethics through intense experiential activities including: high adventure, leadership seminars, cultural events, and service projects. The goals of the training are to improve participants’ awareness of social, political, and environmental issues, motivation to act for the common good, capacity to take effective action, both individually and in groups and organizations, and ability to work cooperatively across lines of race, ethnicity, gender, geography, and socioeconomic background. For registration information, visit: http://www.nylc.org.
