Youth Employment and Green Jobs to a Graying Workforce

Forum on economic opportunities planned

On Wednesday, July 15th, United Neighborhood Centers of America will sponsor an issue forum on economic opportunities for families called Youth Employment and Green Jobs to a Graying Workforce: Education & Training Trends, Challenges, and Solutions.

The forum will present national and regional trends concerning the most compelling opportunities and challenges facing Philadelphia’s workforce including skills training, green jobs, summer jobs for youth and workforce retention issues, and present current and future efforts and solutions underway.

Invited panelists include Drew von Glahn, President/CEO, FEI Behavioral Health; Don Goughler, President/CEO, Family Services of Western Pennsylvania; Fred Dedrick, Deputy Secretary for Workface Development in the PA Dept of Labor & Industry;  Temple University Center for Intergenerational Learning;  Sallie Glickman, CEO Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board (PWIB);  and Michael Ogden, Director, The Bridge E3 Power Center).

The event will be held at Public Health Management Corporation, 260 South Broad Street, Suite 1800.  It will begin at 5:30pm with a networking reception including cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres.  The issue forum will follow from 7-8:30pm.  RSVP by July 6th to Martha De La Rosa at [email protected] or call 414-359-6576.
