Youth EduSoccer Coach, Safe-Hub

Safe-Hub’s mission is to create safe spaces that combine the power of sport and education to empower youth and change lives. We are looking for coaches for kids ages 4-17 in Kensington in life-skills-based soccer. As a Safe-Hub soccer coach, you will learn industry-leading approaches to youth development, give back to your community as a role model for young people, and join the global Safe-Hub movement to empower the next generation of leaders! Safe-Hub will provide training in EduSoccer program facilitation and child protection, ongoing coach support and resources, and you’ll join an incredible community of individuals passionate about soccer and helping their neighborhood!
Spring Season Details:
March 21 – June 10
Tuesdays 5:15 – 7:00pm OR Thursdays 5:15 – 7:00pm
Saturdays 10:15am – 12:00pm OR 12:15 – 2:00pm
Head Coaches coach during one weeknight and one Saturday session each week, and get paid $16.67/hour during a 12-week season (about 5 hours per week).
Qualifications:
- Experience working with young people and in team sports preferred
- Background checks required (PA Access To Criminal History, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, and FBI History Check).
- On-field – played and/or coaching experience preferred
- A passion for coaching and developing grassroots level players
- Strong communications skills and ability to educate
- Have own transportation
- Willingness to attend coaching education, learn directly from program coordinator, and have a growth mindset
Responsibilities:
- Lead trainings within the Kensington area 1 to 4 times a week
- Able to work nights (5pm-7pm) and weekends (10am-2pm), depending on availability and willingness to work
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner as a representative of Safe-Hub
- Take attendance
- Set up and break down fields
- Coach up to 12+ players with an assistant coach
- Help assist in try-outs/competitive games if available to do so
- Follow practice plans given 24 hours before each session
