Colin Higgins Foundation Invites Nominations for Youth Courage Award
Deadline: February 28, 2011
A program of the Colin Higgins Foundation, the Colin Higgins Youth Courage Awards annually honor young people who “have endured overwhelming hardships due to their sexual orientation and/or gender identity, yet have handled themselves with the utmost grace.”
The award program seeks nominations of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, two-spirit, and queer youth who have bravely stood up to hostility and intolerance based on their gender and/or sexual orientation and triumphed over bigotry through working for LGBTQ rights and social justice.
Nominees must be 21 or under and must be U.S. citizens. Self-nominations are not accepted.
Three award winners will be selected to receive $10,000 each.
