Covenant House Pennsylvania is hiring Youth Advisors for both the Rights of Passage Program (ROP) and the Crisis Residential Center (CRC) for day, evening, overnight and weekend shifts. The ROP Program is located in the Kensington section of Philadelphia in our new state of the art (ten apartments- 20 beds) transitional housing facility, and our 51 bed (CRC) is in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. Youth Advisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
– Assisting in the development, implementation and evaluation of client goal plans
– Conducting assessments to determine referrals to internal and external programs and services.
– Implementing life skills training to prepare youth for independent living.
– Overseeing client activities and all group or individual sessions.
– Ensuring the safety and well being of the youth we serve.
– Providing direct, supportive, individualized care utilizing case management skills
A degree in a human service or related field is required for the daytime shift. The successful candidates must have excellent communication and crisis management skills, a strong desire to work with at-risk adolescents, and the ability to handle physically and emotionally challenging situations. A valid driver’s license and insurable driving record is required. No relocation available.
