Youth Action & Art AfterSchool Program
Posted by on February 08, 2010
I’m writing you because Mural Arts Program is recruiting students for our Youth Action & Art afterschool class in mid-February. Details are as follows:
Session dates: Every Wednesday, February 17 to June 9, 2010, 3:30 to 6:30 pm
Description: Youth Action & Art students will explore existing youth media web-based content and learn to take a critical eye towards youth media. Students will then explore art in their own communities and create their own digital media, including photography, writing, and video, and learn how to publish their media to a website. Most classes will take place at Mural Arts Program, 1727 Mt. Vernon Street, Philadelphia, with occasional field trips to be scheduled.
Open to any high school student in Philadelphia, FREE of charge! Space is limited – application required.
Visit http://www.youthactionandart.org for samples of previous students’ work.
If you have students who may be interested – please have them complete the application and return to Maneesha Sane at [email protected] by Thursday February 11. Feel free to contact Maneesha with any questions and to obtain an application. Please pass on this information to any other students you feel may be interested.
