United Way YLP Board Orientation Program
knowledge and expertise… a powerful combination
How can you best share what you know with the non-profit organizations that really need your help?
The Board Orientation Program, a part of the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania’s Young Leaders Program (YLP), offers training to prepare young professionals under 40 years of age, for service on the board of a non-profit organization. We will even help you find an agency that matches your interest.
(All sessions will be held at the Pyramid Club)
The curriculum covers:
Board Roles & Responsibilities – TUES, MAR 15th
5:30-8:00pm Session 1*
Organizational Life Cycles – THURS, MAR 31st
5:30-8:00pm Session 2
Legal and Ethical Issues – TUES, APR 12th
5:30-8:00pm Session 3
Fundraising – WED, APR 27th
5:30-8:00pm Session 4
Board/Administrator Relationships – TUES, MAY 10th
5:30-8:00pm Session 5*
The YLP Board Orientation Program is held in partnership with the Pyramid Club and the Urban League of Philadelphia.
*Mandatory sessions.
In order to qualify for graduation, 4 out of 5 sessions must be attended.
The YLP Board Orientation Program is free of charge to invitees. If you are interested in attending, please contact. Space is limited to 50 young professionals under 40 years of age.
