Yelp Foundation Issues Call for Nominations for Local Grant Competition
The Yelp Foundation has issued a Call for Nominations for its Yelp Foundation Gives Local contest.
Through the contest, the public votes for nonprofit organizations that support the foundation’s mission of addressing the needs of local communities, including access to information, education, local economic development, and freedom of expression.
In order to participate, organizations must nominate themselves by August 31, 2016. Based on submissions, the foundation will choose three organizations in each of Yelp’s U.S. markets to advance to the voting portion of the contest.
The organization with the most votes will receive a $5,000 grant. The second- and third-place winners will receive grants of $3,000 and $2,000, respectively. In the event of a tie, the grants will be combined and the tying organizations will split the total amount evenly.
