Food, Feelings, FUN!
For Students ages 12 – 14
6:30 PM – 7:30 PM
January 17, 24, 31; Feb 7
This workshop will take place at 1501 Christian Street
What foods do you like (or refuse) to eat? Does that include cafeteria food? What dinner would you eat every single week, and how do you like to cook it? We will explore our feelings about our favorite (and hated) foods and create an essay that could sway anyone. Instructor: Dr. A.
Write Your Power
For Students ages 14 – 16
6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Wednesdays, January 11, 18, 25
Have you been fired up about something that has happened in society? Have the current relations with law enforcement made your blood boil or maybe the political climate? Have you wanted to DO something about South Dakota Pipeline? This workshop will guide you towards writing that letter that can influence the change you want. Instructor: Cathy Goodwin
Building Brotherhood Sundays – He Got Game
Ages 12-17
Every Sunday 3:30 – 5 PM
Starts January 8, 2017
Find your “writer’s voice” through sports and music. We will focus on these industries and learn how to recap games and develop reviews on songs of the day. Together we will explore the symbiotic relationship between Hip Hop and sports through history and today. Taught by Mr. James, a recording artist, sports aficionado and a five-year member of the Mighty Writer Staff family. Instructor: James Owk
