Writing workshops for kids

Kid Authors (ages 5-7)
MW South, 1501 Christian St.
Sundays from 1-2:30pm
Oct. 15 to Dec. 10 (8 sessions)
Develop writing skills and celebrate diversity! With debut children’s book author, Jamilah Thompkins-Bigelow, students will learn how to create their own picture books and appreciate difference. We’ll read books like All the Colors We Are, It’s Okay to Be Different, and The Name Jar before reading our own unique stories too!Sign up!
Ghost Stories (ages 8-11)
MW South, 1501 Christian Street
Sundays, 4:00-6:00pm
October 15, 22, 29 (three sessions)
Let’s scare ourselves silly! We’ll learn how to structure a story and techniques for describing the things that go bump in the night. And then a few days before Halloween, we’ll share our scariest stories and give each other goosebumps!
Girl Power Jobs (ages 12-15)
MW South, 1501 Christian St.
Tuesdays, 6:00-7:30pm
Oct. 10, 17, 24, 31; Nov. 7, 14 (six sessions)
Who do you think of as a successful woman? Have you ever stood up like a Superwoman? We’ll learn job skills and use writing to help us understand ourselves and imagine our futures. At the end, we’ll dine like rockstars. Sign up!
