Join Mighty Writers’ team as a Program Intern this summer. Program interns work directly with the Program Director to facilitate writing workshops, support two SAT workshops and prepare for the 2011-12 afterschool program. Summer interns are asked to complete 20-25 per week for at least 12 weeks. Flexible hours are available and summer opening hours are Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Learn more about the organization online at http://www.mightywriters.org.
Responsibilities:
·Support to the Program Director with administrative tasks, learning new computer applications as necessary
·Work with youth aged 5 to 18 individually and in small groups
·Write compelling and dynamic copy for a nonprofit organization
·Communicate clearly and professionally with parents, volunteers and colleagues
Requirements:
·High school diploma or GED
·Two or more years experience working with children aged 5-18
·Outgoing and compassionate personality
·Excellent attention to detail
·Genuine interest in the development and implementation of creative educational programs
