Summary:
The Global Philadelphia Association (GPA) is hiring a World Heritage Philadelphia Coordinator. The Coordinator will play a lead role, in coordination with the Executive Director and Board President of GPA, in planning and implementing activities related to Project World Heritage Philadelphia. For nearly three years, Philadelphia has been embarking upon a mission of becoming a World Heritage City. In November 2013, Philadelphia became an Observer Member of the Organization of World Heritage Cities (OWHC), a significant milestone on the path becoming a Full Member. On November 6, at the XIII World Congress of the Organization of World Heritage Cities, Philadelphia was designated as a Full Member of the Organization of World Heritage Cities. Capitalizing on this new status of World Heritage City, Philadelphia will carry out a significant branding and marketing campaign in order to promote Philadelphia globally and to engage local residents in our effort. The PWHC Coordinator will report to the Executive Director and will work closely with the GPA Board President and the PWHC Team. This is a full time position, based in Center City. GPA is looking to hire a World Heritage Philadelphia Coordinator by January 2016.

Detailed Job Description:
‐ Play a lead role in fundraising, including grant proposal writing, coordinating events, sponsorships, and implementing an individual donor strategy.
‐ Meet regularly with the World Heritage Philadelphia Working Group to strategize and set out tasks for the Project and implement on tasks within agreed upon timeframes.
‐ Work closely with GPA’s Executive Director and Board President to plan and execute Project World Heritage events and activities.
‐ Coordinate with the Project World Heritage Communications Consulting Team to implement communications objectives.
‐ Communicate to and engage key stakeholders and partner organizations in planning for the World Heritage Philadelphia campaign.
‐ Review and edit project reports and outgoing communications.
‐ Participate in GPA‐sponsored events and undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
‐ The World Heritage Philadelphia Coordinator must be available to work evenings and weekend hours as necessary.

Desirable qualifications:
‐ Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a background in culture, heritage, or related topic
‐ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Docs
‐ Experience working on projects as part of a team
‐ Ability to handle multiple projects
‐ Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written
‐ Mastery of social media
‐ Grant‐writing experience a plus
‐ Knowledge of a foreign language and global experience/mindset
