WORLD FOOD DAY 2004
For emergency feeding program volunteers, social service workers, legal services staff, local and state program specialists and policy makers, students, and activists.

At the William J. Green Federal Building, 600 Arch Street (Picture ID Required)
Did you know that 225,507 households in southeastern Pennsylvania skip or cut back on meals because they cannot afford to do otherwise?* Hunger is hiding behind the faces of people you see on the streets everyday. Join us for a day of solidarity in the fight against hunger!

Day to Include:
8:30am: Continental Breakfast
8:45am: Optional prayer service
9:15am: Keynote: The Politics of Hunger: Lessons Learned and Prospects for the Future presented by Ellen Teller, Director of Government Affairs for the Food Research and Action Center in Washington D.C.
Workshops ? choose two of three:
– Helping Hands Need Tending: Retaining and Nurturing Volunteers
– The Welfare Office and Its Neighbors: A West Philadelphia Model Project
– Pennsylvania?s Food and Nutrition Policy: The New Interagency Council and Its Mission. How Can You Have an Impact?
Wrap-up: Online Food Resource Guide
Directions:
Enter the Green Federal Building on 6th Street between Arch and Market Streets. Entrance will be in the center of the block. Don?t forget your picture ID.
Parking:
Underground lot on left side of 6th Street between Arch and Market Streets; $9.50 if enter lot before 9:00am.
National Constitution Center underground parking. Enter on the right side of Race Street between 5th & 6th Streets. $9.00 if enter lot before 9:00am; lot opens at 8:30am.
Public Transportation:
The Market Frankford Line and the following buses stop at or near the Green Federal Building: 17, 33, 38, 44, and 48.
