Saturday, April 1, 10 am ? 3 pm
Friends Center, 1501 Cherry Street
How can your group organize best to make change? How can you build power within your organization? What is a community organizing strategy? When does your group need one? How can you create one? Having a clearly defined strategy can make all the difference between achieving your goals and spinning your wheels. Trainer David Hunt returns to Philadelphia to lead this energetic workshop that will provide tools for more powerful organizing.
About the facilitator:
Originally from North Philadelphia, David Hunt has been organizing for over 20 years. He has led organizing campaigns for better housing and healthcare, including one that resulted in $750 million targeted to low-income housing development in Chicago. David was formerly a trainer with the Midwest Academy, and he is currently president of David Hunt and Associates Community Empowerment and Development in Washington D.C.
The Barbara Smith Community School is co-sponsoring this workshop with the Third World Coalition at AFSC.
