Working Conference for Local After-School Intermediaries

The After-School Corporation (TASC) is now accepting applications to attend their Working Conference for Local After-School Intermediaries to be held in New York City from March 30-April 1.

With support from the Garfield Foundation, TASC is assisting a new generation of after-school initiatives across the nation to strengthen their core functions. As part of this effort, TASC will invite 6-8 groups of stakeholders from localities across the country to spend three days working with TASC staff and other experts on capacity building, fund development, grants management, program monitoring, staff training, and evaluation.

Sessions: This three day working conference will explore the five essential functions of a local intermediary organization.

? Constituency Building
? Fund Development
? Programmatic & Fiscal Accountability
? Quality Improvement through Training, Technical Assistance, and Professional Development
? Supporting Research, Evaluation, and Best Practices

Who Should Attend: Stakeholders involved in emerging or existing intermediary organizations that support after-school programming. Participants should represent communities with school districts of at least 5,000 students and come in teams of 3-5 people. Teams should include a representative from each of the following: intermediary organization, school district, and nonprofit community. Preference will be given to groups bringing additional partners from city government and the private funding community.

How to Apply: If you are interested in participating, please complete an application posted on the TASC website http://www.tascorp.org/programs/special/AfterSchoolAdaptiation and return it by January 28, 2005 to TASC. TASC will review applications and invite 6-8 teams to attend the conference by early February.
