Workforce Investment Act Adult and Dislocated Worker funds

Mayor Michael A. Nutter and the Philadelphia Workforce Investment Board (PWIB) held a news conference Monday at 2 pm to announce a second request for proposals (RFP) for Recovery funds slated for workforce development. Mayor Nutter made the announcement at a solar panel installation training site that has already received funding. Students demonstrated the installation of solar panels for Mayor Nutter who also tried his hand at installing a solar panel.
The Philadelphia Workforce Development Board (PWDC) has released a new request for proposals (RFP) to award Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Adult and Dislocated Worker funds under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The RFP is to procure occupational, education and training, and job placement and retention programs targeting unemployed adults (age 18 years and older).
Preference will be given to skills training programs with strong employer involvement and those conferring college credit or an industry-recognized certificate that articulates to college credit.
For organizations interested in submitting proposals, a bidder’s conference will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday October 28 at the Community College of Philadelphia, Bonnell Building, small auditorium, 1700 Spring Garden Street. A notice of intent to bid is requested by November 4, with the proposals due by Nov. 23 at noon. For additional information, please contact Marianne Fuccio via e-mail at [email protected].
