NBA Foundation Invites Applications for Grants Program

The NBA Foundation aims to drive economic opportunity in the Black community through employment and career development by funding programs that generate successful transitions from school to meaningful employment for Black youth.

To that end, the foundation has issued a Request for Proposals for its grants program. The foundation invests in local and national organizations (with priority given to those operating in NBA markets) that promote school-to-career and workforce development opportunities. Organizations should provide skills training, mentorship, professional coaching, and pipeline development to foster employment and career advancement for Black youth ages 14 through 24.

Approximately twenty capacity-building or program support grants will be awarded in this cycle, with grants ranging from $100,000 to $1 million.

Applicants must qualify as tax-exempt as defined by section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (or a T3010 if operating in Canada), and annually serve a minimum of twenty-five youth.

For complete program guidelines and application instructions, see the NBA Foundation website.

Deadline: August 18, 2021
