Work-based Learning Manager, Workshop U – Jun 22
Posted by The Workshop School on May 23, 2023
Through real-world learning, robust community, and personal growth, Workshop Learning empowers young adults to pursue a life of security, connection, and purpose. Our portfolio includes the Workshop School, a highly regarded, innovative high school managed in partnership with the School District of Philadelphia, and Workshop U, a new postsecondary education model serving emerging adults (ages 19-25). While the Workshop School opened in 2013, Workshop U is a new program launching a small pilot in September 2023.
The Workshop U model includes three types of learning experiences: classes and workshops, work-based learning, and coaching. All three experiences produce substantive work and earn students academic credit. The Work-Based Learning (WBL) Manager will be tasked with all aspects of work-based learning for approximately 25 students in the pilot while laying a foundation for program expansion.
Responsibilities
The WBL Manger is responsible for leading the implementation of work-based learning experiences at Workshop U. This includes identifying prospective sites, serving as liaison with employer partners, and providing direct instructional support to Workshop U students related to their WBL experience. As this is a new role, the WBL Manager will work closely with Workshop U leaders to develop and refine work flows connecting WBL with the wider Workshop U program and to determine formative evaluation criteria and feedback loops to refine and improve the pilot project over time.
Application deadline: June 22, 2023
