Alexia Foundation Accepting Proposals for 2014 Women’s Initiative Grant
DEADLINE: JUNE 30, 2014
The Alexia Foundation, which encourages photojournalists to create stories that drive change, is accepting proposals for its 2014 Women’s Initiative Grant.
One $25,000 grant will be awarded for a documentary photographic or multimedia project on a significant issue involving and affecting women. Suggested issues and themes include femininity and the culture of abuse; women making a difference, leading, and changing things for the better; gender inequality; the direct connection between women, education, and birth rates, children’s health, and household income; gender discrimination; women in the military; and mental health issues. The grant recipient will have six months, or until March 1, 2015, to complete the project.
The foundation welcomes proposals from photojournalists anywhere in the world.
