Winter Forum: Cultural Competence
Posted by Philadelphia Education Fund on January 5, 2018
by The Philadelphia Education Fund
Secondary and Postsecondary educators and practitioners are invited to join Erin Trent Johnson for this FREE forum that will bring awareness to the common issues such as beliefs and blind spots that exist in all levels of relationships and ways in which we can create and enhance safe spaces of belonging in our classrooms and schools.
In this session, educators will explore and examine the dynamic factors that can influence relationships with students and families through an equity lens. Participants will leave this session with helpful tips on how to notice, name, and disrupt patterns of implicit bias that can often unintentionally inhibit teaching and learning.
Erin Trent Johnson is a coach, consultant, workshop designer, and facilitator dedicated to guiding school leaders, educators, and community leaders to achieve their vision of racial equity in education.
