Winter Edition of Public School Notebook available
Posted by on December 10, 2004
The winter edition of the Philadelphia Public School Notebook is now available at public schools, libraries and community sites across the city. (It will be in all schools by today).
This edition focuses on "Adequate yearly progress" (AYP), which has become the most closely watched measure of school performance. Many are criticizing AYP as an inadequate tool for identifying which schools are most in need of help. We provide explanations of how AYP is measured and data on how Philadelphia schools are doing, as well as examining the criticisms. Pick one up today or check out the issue on the web at http://www.thenotebook.org.
