ABOUT JURIST ACADEMY
Widener’s JURIST Academy will give you a real sense of what law school is like and what opportunities lie ahead for you in the field of law. Students will experience the dynamics of a law school classroom, will meet lawyers and judges during field trips and on campus, and will have many opportunities to learn about the admissions process and life at law school. You’ll be able to practice your oral argument, analytic, and test-taking skills.’

Eligibility College students who have completed their sophomore year, have earned a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better, anticipate earning their bachelor’s degree on or before June 1, 2017 and who are members of a group traditionally underrepresented in law school are eligible.

Goal
To increase participation of underrepresented groups in the legal profession by decreasing educational and informational barriers to matriculating in law school and by facilitating exposure to legal career options while building critical thinking and analytical skills necessary to success in law school and in the legal profession.
Location Widener University School of Law
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Campus
Off campus lodging is available at discounted rates in close proximity to the campus. There is no housing on the Harrisburg Campus.
Program Dates June 1—June 12, 2015
Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
plus two mandatory mentoring sessions each Wednesday evening.
Tuition and supplies are free. Meals are provided at no cost to the participants.
Students who successfully complete JURIST Academy will be awarded a certificate of completion and a full scholarship to Kaplan Test Prep LSAT Advantage on Demand. Students may also be granted a monetary stipend after their completion of the two-week program.
