What’s the Kiki: The Rising Kiki Scene in Philadelphia’s House and Ball Community

OBJECTIVES: At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

1. Have knowledge of the current adolescent and young adult Kiki community in Philadelphia, as well as the mainstream House and Ball community;
2. Understand the barriers and facilitators to collaborating with and providing services for Kiki and HBC youth;
3. Identify local resources;
4. Apply best practices and lessons learned from Project POSSE, the Popular Opinion Leader/D’Up effective behavioral intervention being adapted for Kiki and HBC communities in Philadelphia now.

CHOP is a pre-approved provider of continuing education credits for Pennsylvania Licensed Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors. Participants licensed in Pennsylvania who attend the full workshop and complete the required evaluation are eligible for 2.0 Continuing Education Credits. Participants licensed in other states should check with local licensing boards to determine continuing education approval.
