What Everyone should Know about Hunger and Homelessness
Tuesday, December 6, 6:00pm- 8:00pm
The holiday season is a great time to learn about this crucial issue impacting our community. Speakers include representatives from the Greater Philadelphia Coalition against Hunger and Covenant House of Pennsylvania. Presentation will cover the underlying dynamics of hunger and homelessness as well as ways you can take action as a volunteer and advocate.
Consider these facts:
-More than 500,000 Delaware Valley residents live below the federal poverty line, and so are at risk for hunger and chronic malnutrition.
– Of these Delaware Valley residents, more than 192,000 (33%) are children and more than 112,000 (20%) are seniors.
