Join Environmental Concern for these exciting hands-on workshops! Act 48 credits available for all three workshops.
WOW! The Wonders of Wetland for Early Childcare Providers
This workshop will introduce you to the three parameters of wetlands (soil, plants and water) through interactive activities in lesson plan format. Come use all of your senses to explore wetland habitats, head out on a marsh treasure hunt, find creatures in the mud, play Wetland BINGO and much more!
When: April 27th, 9 – 4
Where: John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge at Tinicum – Philadelphia, PA
Cost: $45 includes WOW! curriculum guide and snacks
Wetland Plant I.D. for Educators
Get up close and personal with native wetland plants. Learn about their unique adaptations and identifying characteristics. Practice identifying wetland plants in the field. Learn fun activities you can use with your students.
When: April 28th, 9 – 4

Cost: $50 includes the Ralph Tiner Field Guide to Nontidal Wetland Identification, supplemental materials and snacks
POW! The Planning of Wetlands
Learn how to create your own wetland habitat and activities you can use to involve your students throughout each step of the way. Teach your students important lessons in science, math, engineering & social studies and empower them to make a difference in their communities.
When: Friday, May 11th From 9am-4pm
Where: The Renfrew Institute for Cultural & Environmental Studies, in Waynesboro, PA (Just above Hagerstown, MD)
