Webinar: What matters most for student success from parents’ and educators’ perspectives – Oct 6
Posted by Economic Policy Institute on October 4, 2022
The new school year is underway and teachers, students, and parents are adjusting to a new reality.
For teachers and school staff, the pandemic exposed— and exacerbated— long-standing fissures in our education system, including rising stress for students and staff and worsening shortages of permanent teachers and qualified substitutes.
Join the Economic Policy Institute (EPI) for a conversation led by EPI’s President Heidi Shierholz with President Randi Weingarten of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), President Becky Pringle of the National Education Association (NEA), and Co-Director Ailen Arreaza of ParentsTogether. They’ll discuss what kids need to acquire the knowledge they need to succeed; how we can address the ongoing staffing shortages in America’s public schools; and most importantly how we can work together to strengthen the foundations and protections of our education system.
Date and Time: October 6, 2022, 2:30-3:30 PM
