Posted by Philadelphia Youth Sports Collaborative on February 2, 2021
At the end of 2020, the Collaborative launched the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion education series. We had an incredible response and participation in our first 3 sessions, and hope you will join us for this upcoming program.
February 16, 10:00-11:30 AM – Supporting Athletes with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities – Led by Special Olympics PA.
This session will serve as an introduction to intellectual and developmental disabilities with a primary goal of sharing tools and knowledge to help make youth sports programs more inclusive and welcoming for all participants. Topics will include health and behavior characteristics of various disabilities, and considerations for inclusive communication.
