Webinar Recording: Exploring On Campus Childcare Solutions, Head Start and Community College Partnerships
Posted by ECMC Foundation on May 2, 2023
A chronic shortage of affordable on-campus childcare often leaves student parents ― especially single mothers ― struggling to stay connected to their learning and complete their education.
A recent webinar featuring the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) and the National Head Start Association (NHSA) and made possible with support from ECMC Foundation and the Seldin / Haring-Smith Foundation, provided insights on the issues faced by student parents in accessing childcare and highlighted some of the work that has led to this project and partnership.
This year, ACCT and NHSA will begin developing resources for partnerships to match existing Head Start providers with community college campuses that can offer free facilities.
