Webinar: Re-thinking the Poverty Indicators in the Education System – Oct 6
Posted by Spotlight on Poverty and Opportunity on October 4, 2022
As momentum builds around free school meals for all and expanding other meal programs, it is important to understand the impact of the loss of Free and Reduced-Price Meal (FRPM) data and school districts’ federal funding allocations. AASA, First Focus, and FRAC are excited to create a working group of education advocates at the federal level for a comprehensive conversation about improving poverty indicators for education. As the conversation continues around free school meals for all and expanding other meal programs, AASA, First Focus, and FRAC will discuss how to replace Free and Reduced-Price Meal (FRPM) data as the metric for poverty.
This event will take place on Thursday, October 6, at 10:00-11:00 AM.
