Posted by Temple University on February 11, 2025
Please urge your high school students and parents to register to attend the free webinar: “College & Financial Aid Made Easy” – scheduled for Tuesday, February 11, 2025, 6pm-8pm.
PURPOSE & OVERVIEW OF EVENT
The college going rate for undergrads has declined during and post-pandemic. One of the aims of the “College Planning & Financial Aid Made Easy” webinar is to increase the overall interest and the undergraduate college enrollment rate among high school students in Pennsylvania.
- The goal of this event is to equip high school students with vital information and resources pertaining to preparation and access to higher education and financial aid resources, and to spark higher undergraduate enrollment.
- Research data indicate that individuals with higher education attainment and training earn more annual income, have broader career options, and have better job security compared to individuals without any higher education attainment and training.
- According to BestColleges.com, “The undergraduate college enrollment decline has accelerated since the pandemic began, resulting in a loss of over 900,000 students, or almost 6% of total enrollment, between fall 2019 and fall 2023.”
- “America’s college-going rate was generally on the upswing until the pandemic reversed decades of progress. Rates fell even as the nation’s population of high school graduates grew, and despite economic upheaval, which typically drives more people into higher education.” -Fortune.com
