Posted by on July 30, 2012

Freedoms Foundation is pleased to offer a three day professional development opportunity for teachers presently using We the People and Project Citizen or who are interested in bringing either or both of these curricula into their classroom.

The Pennsylvania Summer Institute will be held August 14–16, 2012 at Freedoms Foundation in Valley Forge. Details are below. Please email immediately to register, as there are only 20 spots available. There is no cost for PA teachers.

Freedoms Foundation will provide accommodations for all participating teachers on their 85-acre campus situated in the heart of Valley Forge. Teachers will be housed in their own room with a/c, private bath, and all bedding needed. Rooms are tradition dormitory style, in the same building as the dining hall and classroom.

The program will include lectures from constitutional scholars and public policy experts from universities such as the University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University, and Lafayette College. We will also visit Philadelphia’s Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, National Constitution Center, and Federal Courthouse.

Teachers who participate in the summer institute will have the chance to receive a free classroom set of We the People or Project Citizen  text books. Those who attend will also have the opportunity to order additional sets of books at a 40% discount.

To register for the 2012 Pennsylvania We the People and Project Citizen Summer Institute, please contact Kim DeBlase at kdeblase@ffvf.org or call 610.933.8825 x. 292 with questions.
