Walmart Accepting Applications for Local Community Grant Program
The Walmart Foundation is accepting applications for its Local Community Grant program, which will award grants of up to $5,000 to local nonprofit organizations in support of projects that benefit the community at large such as food pantries, soup kitchens, and clothing closets. Eligible nonprofit organizations must operate on the local level (or be an affiliate/chapter of a larger organization that operates locally) and directly benefit the service area of the store from which they are requesting funding.
Organizations must meet at least one aspect of the program’s criteria, including holding a current tax-exempt status as a public charity under section 501(c)(3), or (19) of the Internal Revenue Code, be listed on the IRS Master File and conduct activities within the United States (excluding nationally sponsored organizations, such as American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, Children’s Miracle Network, and United Way); be a recognized government entity at the state, county, or city agency level, including law enforcement or fire department, and request funds exclusively for public purposes; or a K-12 public or nonprofit private school, charter school, community/junior college, state/private college or university; or a church or other faith-based organization with a proposed project that benefits the community at large. Applicant entities must be CyberGrants FrontDoor verified.
